Character Name: Chase Collins
Series: The Covenant
Game transferring from: The Box
Canon Point in previous game: Add some banter and Chase kissing Tyler to save him, mentally scar the poor boy more, and he's died a second time. So he's coming in from death. This time having been strangled to death.
Summary/History: Ooh witchy!
Changes in character from previous game: Chase is coming in sort of like a caged animal. Tyler has been trying, mostly unsuccessfully, to turn him into a decent human being and he's been opting to act like more of a dick. The times he's saved Tyler he's covered it as wanting to torture the kid, sure, but things said were starting to get under his skin. So he felt the need to prove him wrong.

He still holds the nice guy act to everyone that doesn't actively know him, but compared to before, he'll be far more gungho about showing his dark side.
Personality:
The Power/Using: Chase is addicted to the Power and its euphoric effects. He does whatever he wants, regardless of the consequences, whether people get hurt or not, and he will make it involve Using in some way or another just to make things more interesting. Why? Because why not. He gets bored easily. Most of the time, he doesn't even have to use but he will just for the hell of it. Even when he found out about the aging side effects, he still didn’t stop using way too much. He will never stop, because he’s addicted. It’s always about the next rush, the next time he can use just for the thrill of it. Stupidly, he thinks having more power will solve all of his problems. When, spoiler, it won’t. Caleb even tells him so, and Chase doesn’t believe him. The only way to solve his problems is to stop using so much, but will he ever do that? No, of course not.

Determination: He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. His personality...kind of straight up reads that, don't you think? I mean, this entire personality section will straight up scream that he's determined to do whatever he needs to get whatever he wants. Chase can be a brilliant actor. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that's a second dream of his besides ultimate Power. To be an actor! Seriously though, he will lie, charm, and flatter his way to wherever he needs to be to get his hands on what he wants. And he will never stop. There is no stopping; giving up simply isn’t an option for him.

Charming: The guy can charm your pants off. Like, seriously. Pants and panties both, ladies; they will drop with how charming he can be. Gentlemen, don't think you're not prone to it happening too. Why do you think Pogue hates him so much in the beginning? Because he was charming Kate right out of her pants. If the movie went on, it would have been porn. No but seriously, his charm is one incredibly important tool for making people do as he wants. Kate defended him not trying to steal her from Pogue; he pulled off gay best friend transfer student to her. Whether or not that was on purpose though, who knows. But I seriously think Kate was thinking "aw what an adorable gay guy". Too much charm.

Can be a nice guy: This goes with the fact that he can be charming, but it's a bit more than just that; he can treat people with respect and he will, gladly. He was raised properly; he just ignores it most of the time because, hello, he’s power hungry and really doesn’t give a shit about anyone but himself. Instinctively, he will treat people with respect until they do something to severely wrong him, get in his way, or have something he wants. When that happens, well, that'll be obvious. But the face of the matter is that he can be nice, he can come across as harmless as a bunny rabbit so long as it suits him. People like a nice guy. People trust a nice guy. People don’t think a nice guy will turn around and make their life hell. That’s the point.

Manipulative/uses people: If he finds a use for you, he will exploit the fuck out of it. Remember how he’s charming? He knows he is. He uses that to his advantage. He used it with Kate, Sarah, even the boys. No one will ever suspect a thing until he wants them to. It's not like he just went "Hey. Oh you think I'm awesome. Cool. See ya!" No, he's more like "Hey. Oh you think I'm awesome. Hmm, I could use this. Hey, buddy! Do me a favor?" And then before you know it he could have you broken and helpless, or doing everything he wants you to. The best part is? He won’t even feel sorry about it. Not one bit.

Smarts/planning: When it comes to something that needs to be done, he will plan for it just right. He'll study the people around his goal and aim to manipulate them just enough to make sure that what he wants to happen, will happen. He prides himself on knowing what to do and making sure he's at least two steps ahead. Y'know. Until his planned victims gets a surprise Power boost from their dad. Then he kind of becomes a deer in headlights. But he doesn’t just rush headlong into things without planning it out first. He knows what he’s doing to make all of the pieces fall right into place. But there are still some things that he doesn’t take into account, some things that throw a wrench into his plans, like the previously mentioned incident of Caleb’s father Willing him his Power.

Vindictive: The entire movie subplot could be summed up as "The story of a boy denied entrance into a secret club because of his family out for revenge because "WHY WON'T YOU LOVE ME?"" Chase wants revenge for the privilege that the fifth family of the original covenant was denied. If he’s wronged, he’ll take revenge. He doesn’t just forgive and forget, or either of those things separately. It’s not a part of who he is. He can’t just let go of things, he will hold a grudge, and it will likely always be there.

Jealousy: At the end of it all, at the very core of things, one of Chase’s driving factors in going after the covenant is that he’s extremely jealous of them for having things he has never had in his life. They have each other. They have family. They have people who will help them and support them always. He never actually had that. Not in the sense that they do. He wants what they have; their lives, their Power, and they’ll never accept him since he was never part of their little group. And, well, if he can’t have that, then no one can, which is another reason why he doesn’t even hesitate to destroy them or hurt them.

Arrogant: Chase can get away with almost anything and he knows he can, so he'll do it. He will push limits because he knows he can win no matter what, or at the very least, he assumes he can, with no doubt whatsoever. If you show any sign of wavering when he's against you, he will know he's already won and that will help you beat him. He was so sure of himself in his quest to get Caleb’s Power that he wasn't fully expecting anything to happen. His arrogance is also his downfall. Because he overestimates himself, he underestimates everyone else. He never believed that Caleb would be able to beat him, or that anyone would help him, like his father. Chase has twice the Power any warlock should ever have, so hell, that should make him unbeatable too, shouldn’t it? Wrong. His arrogance leaves gaps in his defense for things that he never even considers a threat.

Sarcasm/wit: Chase is quick on his feet with a comeback of almost any sort. His personality is incredibly sarcastic because honestly, if he's done something intentionally that's wrong, he'll apologize, but he won't mean it. He will poison you with sarcasm, if a thing like that was literally possible. He’s got a sharp tongue, and he uses sarcasm mostly for dishing out insults, like his comment to Aaron in the locker room, no matter the consequences. If there’s an opening for some snide remark, he’ll take it. If it comes down to a verbal sparring match, he can keep up without a doubt. Just be careful you don’t trigger his short temper along the way or, oops, you might not be in the condition to continue talking.

Power hungry: He even admits that he has a little problem with Using, that he’s addicted to it, and because of that, he "needs more Power", when it’s the Power that’s what will kill him or keep him alive. Yeah. Any warlock or witch or wizard who has powers that work in similar ways to his, powers that could be willed to him, shall be targets because so long as he sees the opportunity, Chase will...well, chase after that power. He’s delusional about the Power. He thinks having more of it will save him, that if he has more Power it’ll stop the side effects of excessive using and he won’t age like his father did. He wants to have his cake and eat it too, but he can’t, because things don’t work that way. But he’s so wrapped up in his Power and all of the things that he can do-and that he never stops wanting to be able to do-that he won’t listen to reason about it.

Sadist: As he said once, hurting people comes naturally to him. He enjoys seeing people in pain. He likes using his powers to make other people suffer. It's almost as amazing as the Power itself, maybe only second to that. He probably didn’t even hesitate to kill the boy at the party who saw him use, or to kill his adoptive parents. He probably didn’t feel bad about his father Willing him his Power and then dying, either. He enjoyed putting Pogue in the hospital, and he enjoyed every chance he got to hurt Caleb. Hell, he even enjoyed hurting Sarah. Along with that, he’s a guiltless killer. He does not care. Seriously, there is not one part of him that regrets anything he’s ever done. Nothing about any of his actions suggests that he feels bad about anything. In fact, he’d probably do it all over again if he had the choice. There is nothing that would make him change that, at least, nothing short of a miracle.

Short temper: Just. Don't fuck with him. He will hurt you. If you get on his nerves, well, sucks to be you. He’ll make sure you regret it and think twice about it next time-if there even is a next time. He does not have the patience to deal with people who irritate him, whether on purpose or by accident. Especially not on purpose. Seriously, why would you ever want to do that? Don’t you value your life? It’s a Very Stupid Idea to piss him off and get on his bad side. Don’t play games and don’t deny him what he wants. He doesn’t like not getting what he wants.
Powers/Abilities: Abilities: Chase has twice the Power of the other warlocks, except for Caleb, since he’s not only already ascended, but has his father’s Power too, and with all of the Power that Chase wields, there are many things he has as abilities. Considering the wide range of uses of the Power, his abilities aren’t necessarily limited to this list, but I won't stray too far from it without it linking to here somehow.

Superhuman Strength: Chase was stronger than any of the Sons of Ipswich. He overpowered Pogue with ease and brutally beat him.
Energy Blasts: Chase could create projectiles of powerful telekinetic energy that could shatter the ground and knock people down or high into the air.
Telekinesis: Chase's telekinesis was far more advanced than the other Sons of Ipswich. He displayed a unique ability to create "tendrils" of telekinetic energy from his hands that could latch on and drag Caleb across the ground. He could use his finger to create a powerful bash of energy to knock Caleb back to the ground. He then levitated Caleb high into the air and tossed him out of Putnam Barn with great speed and force.
Teleportation: Dude, his body wasn't found in the burned down Putnam Barn. How else do you explain that shit? Not to mention it looks like he disappeared AS he was thrown into the fire in that final battle! Just sayin'.
Glamour: He can disguise himself as someone else of his own accord. An example of this is when he was pretending to be Caleb to Sarah before the actual Caleb showed up.
Flight: He is able to levitate and move in the air freely.
Atmokinesis: To an extent, back home Chase can control the weather.
Summoning: He has the ability to summon beings known as Darklings (who knows what they are specifically though, it’s never clear about that), as well as conjure up spiders.
Dreams: He also has the ability to influence dreams, like when Sarah had nightmares about spiders.

Strengths: All of Chase’s abilities are strengths, adding on the fact he is a strong swimmer, especially the Australian Crawl or Freestyle, whichever you want to go by for it.

Weaknesses: His arrogance is his biggest weakness. Only beating out addiction by like a hair. His addiction, of course, which will eventually cause him to die of old age.
Items on your character: Clothing on his back. That's about it. Dirt from the grave in his hair/on his clothes/all that as well, I suppose
